Credit
cards have long been responsible for many of the financial pitfalls
many people find themselves today. But credit cards do not make
purchases, people do. This article does not promote the use of credit
cards but only serves to inform people that there are other types of
credit cards that reward people who use them with each purchase.
If you
can’t stop yourself from getting a credit card then choose those
that offer you discounts with every purchase. You can’t stop the
banks from charging you with interest rates but if you can shave a
few dollars then at least you’re not losing too much of your money.
Cash
Back Credit Cards
CashBack Credit Cards are similar in principal to reward cards. The
difference however, is that purchases should be made with partner
businesses in order for you to qualify. People save on money by
having discounts from selected retailers or
businesses that work with
the bank. Each time you make a purchase from this store a small
credit or cash back is credited to your account. This may come in the
form of a discount on your next purchase or money is returned
directly on your account from the discounted purchase.
Frequent
Flyer Credit Cards
Frequent
Flyer Credit Cards are perfect for the constant traveler. You could
simply ask your bank for such programs or ask your preferred airline
company for banks who are offering this type of credit card services.
These credit cards still offer you the ability to make credit
purchases but each time your use them for airline tickets you are
rewarded with discounts or free tickets for your next flight.
Some
airlines and banks also partner with hotels offering additional
discounts to frequent flyers. With airline companies struggling to
corner a larger part of the flying public it’s just a matter of
time before you could find a bank offering frequent flyer credit
cards.
No
Annual Fee Credit Cards
Few
people qualify for these types of credit cards that some people don’t
even know they exist. The reason why no annual fee credit cards
remain so elusive is because only a few people qualify. Low interest
credit cards and no annual fee credit cards require good credit
scores.
Rewards
Credit Cards
Rewards
Credit Cards offer users bonus points on every purchase they make. Of
course this is not an excuse to go on a spending spree but make
enough purchases and you’re bound to save money. Similar to cash
back credit cards, these however do not require you to purchase from
participating retail stores or businesses.
Low
Interest Credit Cards
Everybody
thinks that they’re currently using a Low Interest Credit Card only
to be surprised that they are currently paying for interest higher
than they ever had. No bank in their right minds would advertise
their “real” interest rates. There would always be hidden charges
included so be sure to read the fine lines before getting that credit
card.
The
rule is simple; people with a good credit history have lower interest
rates. This is because they present a smaller risk compared to people
with bad credit ratings. Work on your credit score and get your
finances in order before getting a credit card.
Credit
cards are ideal for people who don’t need them. This is because
credit cards however good they are requires making purchases which is
not a good idea for people trying to save money. The only way you
could make money with a credit card is to use purchases for your
business. You could never do with the interest rates but if you stand
to make money with each purchase then it’s a good financial
decision altogether.

Lots of people blame credit cards for the financial problems they are facing nowadays. They think that credit cards are responsible for the increasing consumer debt level in the country. However, I beg to differ in this case. Credit cards don’t compel you to buy various things. You purchase things because of your own desire. You become tempted with the attractive things displayed inside the store. You can’t control your desire and end up buying the products by whipping the credit cards.
ReplyDeleteThere is a proverb which says “as you sow, so you reap”. If you can use credit cards responsibly, then you won’t be in any financial problems. However, if you misuse the credit cards, then be prepared to meet a financial disaster.
